A representative from Vlaams & Neutraal Ziekenfonds will contact you to finalize your tranfer. This can take about four weeks, but VNZ will handle everything. Once your file is finalized, the actual switch can take place on the first day of the following trimester. Legally, there are only four dates on which the actual switch to the VNZ health insurance fund can take place: January 1, April 1, July 1, or October 1.

Switch VNZ hospitalisation insurance

You can easily switch to a VNZ hospitalisation insurance policy. VNZ offers two hospitalisation insurance policies: Hospiplan and Hospiplus.

If you already have hospitalisation insurance through your work or privately, you can usually switch without a waiting period and at a more favorable rate. If you switch privately and have had private hospitalisation insurance for at least one year, the notice period for your old contract is two months.

If you do not yet have VNZ hospitalisation insurance, you can make a comparison and then switch.
