About Vlaams & Neutraal Ziekenfonds (VNZ)

Vlaams & Neutraal Ziekenfonds (VNZ) is a small-scale, personal, and family-oriented health insurance fund that provides statutory health insurance for its members. It also offers services focused on value for money.

What is VNZ?

VNZ has more than 135,000 members and is active throughout Flanders. It explicitly chooses its own priorities and focuses on a personal, family-oriented, and friendly approach.

Flemish

The Flemish aspect is important to VNZ. VNZ sees itself as part of the Flemish community and supports the non-party-political Flemish movement. Vlaams & Neutraal Ziekenfonds advocates the transfer of social security to the communities. VNZ is independent and pluralistic.

Services

The core task of the health insurance fund is to provide statutory RIZIV reimbursements for health insurance. These reimbursements are the same for every health insurance fund. In addition, it offers its members an additional package of benefits. These include reimbursements, discounts, and allowances that vary by fund. Vlaams & Neutraal Ziekenfonds also offers hospitalisation insurances: Hospiplan and Hospiplus.

Hospiplan is a cost-covering hospitalisation insurance policy intended for those who prefer a double or shared room. Hospiplus is aimed at those who prefer to be cared for in a one person room. You can also optionally subscribe AmbuPlan and AmbuPlus, respectively, which provide additional coverage in case of serious illnesses.
