What is Solidaris?
Solidaris health insurance fund
Since 2022, Solidaris Wallonie has brought together various Walloon socialist regional entities (excluding the one in the province of Luxembourg) into a single mutual health insurance fund. The various socialist mutual health insurance funds in Flanders and Brussels also adopted the name Solidaris at that moment in time.
Solidaris has 3.3 million members in Belgium. More than 2 million members in Flanders and around 1.3 million members in Wallonia.
Solidaris is associated with socialist political ideology. In a context marked by individualism and inequality, Solidaris defends a model of a just, inclusive, and supportive society. Solidaris positions itself as an innovative social actor, committed to the well-being and empowerment of all.
Additional benefits for members
In addition to the organisation of reimbursements and compensations in the event of disability or pregnancy, within the legal framework of compulsory health insurance, Solidaris members benefit from a range of additional benefits, such as reimbursements for glasses and lenses, reimbursements for psychological support, a range of benefits in the event of childbirth, etc.
Insurances
Apart from the legal offer and additional member benefits, Solidaris also offers the possibility of taking out optional insurances such as hospitalisation insurance, dental insurance or additional coverage for medical expenses.
Solidaris hospitalisation insurances include the Essential and Essential+ packages. The Essential package covers hospitalisation costs in a shared room, while the Essential+ package combines the Essential package with Optio coverage for hospitalisation in a private room. The exact coverage depends on the chosen plan: Optio 100, Optio 150, or Optio 200. Solidaris also offers dental insurance called Optio Dentis, as well as additional coverage for serious illnesses.
