Helan and Partenamut hospitalization insurances: new name, better terms, same price in 2026
Helan Health Insurance and Partenamut Health Insurance are implementing a number of changes to their hospitalization insurance policies. The Hospitalia products are getting new names. The waiting period for new customers is being reduced from 6 to 3 months, and coverage is also being expanded. Hospitalia Smart, in particular, is seeing significant improvements.
Hospitalia Smart: +2 months extra ambulatory coverage
With the start of 2026, Helan Health Insurance and Partenamut are renewing its range of Hospitalisation Insurance policies. We list the changes below.

Helan Hospitalia, Hospitalia medium, and Hospitalia Plus are henceforth called Hospitalia Smart, Hospitalia Care, and Hospitalia Plus.
Partenamut Hospitalia, Hospitalia medium, and Hospitalia Plus are henceforth called Partenamut Smart, Hospitalia Care, and Hospitalia Plus.
Hospitalia Smart gets an upgrade for the same price
Hospitalia Smart, the cheapest hospitalization insurance, is receiving more extensive coverage. The coverage period for ambulatory care prior to hospitalization is being extended from 30 days to 60 days. Reimbursement for ambulatory care after hospitalization is also being extended, from 90 days to 120 days. This is notable, given that the cheapest plan at most health insurance funds only covers 30 days before and 60 days after hospitalization. The room supplement for a single room is also being increased from €80 to €100 per day. Rooming-in coverage (costs for an overnight stay for a companion with a hospitalized patient) is being extended to adult patients.
